"I have seen the Totality, received not in essence, but by participation. When you light a flame from a flame, it is the same flame that you receive."
St. Symeon the New Theologian, 949-1022
Four components to empower a life that is both grounded and on fire:
Knowing Ourselves to Be God's Beloved
Through experiential exercises participants will encounter what we already know, deep down- that we are already connected to God. We will learn how to better access and live from that inner Divine Center.
Awareness of How We Make People "Other"
We will explore how the process of making someone "other" operates within ourselves, how we can do that differently, and what unhealed aspects of ourselves need to be befriended as we surrender projecting our shadow onto others.
Creating a Balanced Life
Participants will develop body, mind, and spirit practices, which are resilient, sustainable and fluid, fostering balanced life in the Spirit that continues after the supportive structure of the program is over.
Healing Mind, Body, and Spirit
Participants will focus on how the ways we have been wounded impact us on all levels of our being. Healing one, impacts all. That healing also ripples outward, impacting our communities, and even our planet.
Participating in God’s Power
This year-long program is intended to consist of four residencies on long weekends. However, with the COVID-19 Pandemic, we have had to redesign the second half of the program to be virtual, with a closing in-person residency. Click here to learn more about our plans.
While we envision this program being particularly appropriate for Quakers who have done a previous program and want a deeper commitment to the Divine, this program is highly appropriate for anyone yearning for a life guided and sustained by a sense of God's* presence.
We are clear to offer this program as our faithful response to our experience of deep spiritual hunger and yearning among Friends, and to a world moving towards more and more dangerous levels of intolerance, fear, hatred, and divisiveness.
We believe that the Religious Society of Friends has a part to play in the development of the Body of Christ, in the Kingdom of God, and in the spiritual evolution of the human condition.
We hear God’s call to be part of an overall shift in consciousness, to open more fully to be living vessels of God’s love and power.
We seek to invite others into that process.
